Strictly Come Dancing 2015,

Week 2: Results

tess claude 15 2

After the first week of sequins and skills one couple is about to leave the dance contest for good tonight.

Hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman present the results.

In no particular order, Tess reveals the results. Last week’s introduction scores are combined with this week. First through to next week are Daniel and Kristina. Joining them also will be Peter and Janette, Kellie and Kevin, Georgia and Giovanni, Helen and Aljaz, Jeremy and Karen The first pair to join the dance off are Iwan and Ola.

The second batch of results were given later on, in no order. Making it back again are Ainsley and Natalie, Katie and Anton, Jay and Aliona, Anita and Gleb, Anthony and Oti, Carol and Pasha and Kirsty and Brendan. The dance off couple are Jamelia and Tristan. A shock for many, and the granny votes to blame. Strictly producers must be fretting backstage. This was one of their two star acts. Good old BBC.

The dance off comprises both Iwan and Ola  and Tristan and Jamelia.

Tonight’s musical guest is music royalty in Rod Stewart. Do Ya Think He’s Sexy? Come on, let me know… He performed another classic with his new single Please with style and rock grace.

Len’s Lens has a sneaky peek at closer actions of the dance couples from Saturday evening. Georgia’s feet was Len’s focus. Helen’s hips were Darcey’s discussion. She gave us a little masterclass. Craig’s gorgeousness with Kristina’s doily pink hat raised the glam as Daniel was up for discussion with his wavey free arms. Armography! Len and classy Darcey had a wee dance at the start of the show. Tristan and Jamelia’s loud and “sexy” Tristan enthusiasm was an appealing moment to behold. Don’t Cha…

The Dance – Off

The dance off has arrived.

Tristan and Jamelia

Cha Cha Cha

Don’t Cha – The Pussycat Dolls

Jamelia air waving frizz of hair blowing showed some sass as she joined Tristan to the floor. Good lines and arm extension. Fair chemistry with Tristan. Good fun getting into it and better than Saturday but clear to see lacking a buzz that got them here. Needs to pick up the pace. Good sashays to end. Tristan needs to vamp up the Jamelia sex appeal. Potential to be a firecracker is there.

Iwan and Ola

Cha Cha Cha

Sexy and I Know It – LMFAO

Should’ve asked Rod for some tips… Iwan tried but could only rely on sex appeal and some silly break dance turtle roll. No enthusiasm and stiff on the beat kick in. Wrong music but trying. Too little too late. Barely any movement and lost footing towards end. Fairly stationary. Empty.

The Judges Vote

tess claude 15 2

Judges Craig Revel-Horwood, Darcey Bussell, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli will save one couple. If a tie, leading judge Len will cast the final vote.

Craig saved Jamelia and Tristan.

Darcey kept Jamelia and Tristan.

Bruno saved Jamelia and Tristan.

Len made it a full house in agreement for Jamelia and Tristan.

I-wan and Out…

It’s all Ola-over. Iwan Thomas and partner Ola Jordan have stumbled at the first hurdle and leave the dance contest in its first week. Iwan said he enjoyed his time on the show with Ola. He didn’t want to go but that’s how it is. Ola had also earlier thrown a strop backstage that she didn’t get star turn Peter Andre as her partner. Her performance can clearly show that much. Oh well.

SCD Pro Partners Revealed

The professional couples have been paired with their celebrity partners for the Autumn dance supershow.

The show opened with a traditional BBC black and white gimmick talking about the Wimbledon victory for Andy Murray, the Ashes win in cricket, (which no one watched) and now the title for Stircitly was up for grabs. It was not necessary and added nothing to the show. Was it in no way current, either.

Bruce got the show going already ticking off our Strictly Bingo card (uploaded later) with a funky dance move tapping his way on set energetically.

scd line up

Strictly Come Dancing will allow the couple’s three weeks to train with their pro. The list of pairings is below.

Sophie Ellis Bextor pairs with predicted Brendan Cole.

Deborah Meaden bulks up with beefy Robin Windsor.

Natalie Gumede shimmy’s with Artem Chigvintsev.

Rachel Riley pairs up with Pasha Kovalov. High rumours began beforehand of no secret James Jordan wanted Riley. His visible face was a tad disappointed.

Jessie J – It’s my Party

jessie j

Jessie J returned to belt out her new hit on the kick off show. The track is too bassy and ultrasonic in parts. The composition doesn’t really fit together ultimately, but is a feel good song for one time. Not sure how much it cost taxpayers to invite a ton of raver extra’s on the set though. They weren’t needed in such high quantity waving their glow sticks. Why confetti was dropped for a song at the end was beyond belief.

Patrick Robinson beats alongside Anya Garnis.

Ashley Taylor Dawson collapsed in joy after bagging Ola Jordan. Taylor also acknowledged his boy band days in pop group All Stars. We knew the band was allstars but left a red herring in our previous post for the Beeb. We have to make them do some jounralism instead of plagiarisng us constantly, don’t we?

Julien Macdonld will dance with Janette Manrara. Interestingly, after Julien was asked by hostess Tess as Julien talked about getting all the sequins. and dancers he replied “Give me them all” with extravagance, as both professional dancers Aliona Vilani and Kristina Rhianov showed there distaste and appalling levels of homophobia. (See Ben Cohen below.) The BBC edited this out of their iPlayer footage.

Tony Jacklin bunked up with Aliona Vilani.

Abbey Clancy was overjoyed to nab hunk Aljaz Skorjanec.

Fiona Fullerton snared her own Bond beau Anton DuBeke.

Vanessa Feltz joined James Jordan.

Susanna Reid took the new boy Kevin Clifton.

The judges were asked on the pairings for their thoughts. Craig Revel Horward added they were “reasonable”. He also added James Jordan may need to pray for a miracle whilst working with Vanessa Feltz.

Rod Stewart – Can’t Stop Me Now

rod 13

Icon Stewart performed with a great rendition of his latest hit. Afterwards Brucie asked Rod when he would be donning the sequin top and glitzy shoes. Rod said he would “love to” participate in the dancing contest. Which then begs the question, why haven’t the BBC asked him yet? There’s always next year.

Louis and Flavia re-performed their winning dance from last year if the Charleston. They should have just left it alone. Flavia won’t be joining the show this year due to preganncy but plans to return next year. Please do not flaunt the farce that is money stain and inept dancer Louis all over the show and in audience, please.

Dave Myers chaperoned Karen Hauer.

Ben Cohen scored Kristina Rhianov. BBC made some good pairings, mostly predictable, on the show, but faces a challenge in name worth of celebs. Pairing beefy stud Ben Cohen with sexy siren Kristina was a dumb choice based on a couple that look sexy together for the BBC. It’s ironic that the BBC booked a man who campaigns for gay rights was joined by a homophobic dancer, They really thought that one through, didn’t they? They should have paired him with Iveta. The BBC can fire them next series, unless it likes creating more crisis. The ghost of Jimmy Savile still haunts the BBC after failing to take any direct action on the matter years on.

aliona kristina rude

Mark Benton took Iveta Lukosiute.

It was interesting to see the prominent unmovable reaction guy in the background of Tess and Bruce from the Channel 5 Big Brother production team and phone room staring into the hard camera.

This year see’s two new males join the show and last year’s stand-in Iveta Lukosiute who became a new addition last year after replacing an injured pro dazzled on the show. She makes her full on signing this year. Technically its her second series but first in major prominence as a Strictly signee.

Five in total are the newbie professionals featuring Iveta Lukosiute,  Anya Garnis, Janette Manrara, Kevin Clifton and Aljaz Skorjanec.

Image

Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace have departed from the show alongside original Erin Boag. Natalie Lowe injured her ankle two weeks before the show devastating producers who promptly rehire recently sacked star Aliona Vilani.

Let’s just hope they clarify the rules on whether lifts will be allowed or not. Lifts unspecified often lose points as a rule break with certain judges.

The show also upgraded to a brand new arena capable of seating more audience members, according to the BBC. But will they allow anymore in?

The show commences on the 27th September and the following evening in a two parter starter.

Craig also gave the hopefuls crucial advice to “listen to their professionals, accept critique and don’t answer back.”

Good luck!

James serenades Rod. Maloney given no lines at all seemingly.

At least you can’t blame him for anything this time. So, if the song was rubbish, then it’s not him your diverting your concern to. Think about it. Blatant James Arthur plugging as hot favourite from X Factor inside production crew. They and Cowell want Arthur to win. He’s gaining the lowest votes.

Sight of You

Covered up her “urban roots” whilst performing new single.

From afar zooming in and out, in a hoody and a prism spotlight shining down, Tulisa entered a level vocal of minimalism to a backing track. The X Factor judge, who critiques other acts on the very stage entered what was a rather standard performance with no mass impact nor emotional connection having no key expression, all clad in leather. Felt off in key towards end after most took their attention elsewhere or made a cup of tea.

Charity Together for Short Lives, which helps young born children with difficulties was shown next. Proceeds going to them from a charity single by X Factor, which wasn’t fully explained. Did we forget in the mass bubble of manipulating the shows audience to vote a certain way?

On Wednesday 28th December after realising that Christopher Maloney may win the show, Simon Cowell announced the charity will receive 100% of the profits from the single, shunting the winner in the hopes Cowell reaches a number one single in order to save the flagging reputation of the show above all else in a panic over the ratings and production crisis unfolding. Previously there has been a separate charity single featuring all live show acts.

pink resplendant 9

Resplendent, class act once again.

With an elegant ensemble of violins, electric guitars, drums and a smooth resplendent tone Pink instantly added her attitude to the song and maintained star quality never overdoing and ruining the track. Yet another flawless performance with all external factors and pure quality with gorgeous glam for the star who still contains attitude in the industry. Pink will be touring the UK back in April.

The Result

Dermot O’Leary informs us that in “no particular order, first act through to the final is” – James Arthur. Joining James is – Christopher.

The last place in the final goes to – Jahmene.

Union J have been eliminated on the public vote as the judges cannot save anymore. They were in the sing off an astonishing three times. We were treated to one last performance.

Repeating the same song from earlier in series again, began with tough vocals from Josh then JJ following through. Jaymi consistent. Following with strong sound, the backing group still awkward. George still the odd one in the group doing nothing much except an extra. Many a missed opportunity.

The placement of the band is highly disjointed, and if they re-affirmed their structure they might be interesting for once in the right aspect. They were on borrowed time for many weeks as voters voted in defiance, not respect.

Union J boldly stated publicly they can be bigger than One Direction and plan to take them on and destroy their market. Speaking to tabloid newspaper The Mirror, Josh Cuthbert added: “We want to do better than One Direction.”
